Ariana Grande Brings Out 'NSYNC, Nicki Minaj and Diddy During Show-Stopping Coachella Set

Ariana Grande rocked Coachella, and we’re so into it.

On Sunday night, the pop star, 25, delivered her first of two headlining sets at the annual music festival in Indio, California.

Grande opened her performance with “God Is a Woman” before going into “Bad Idea,” the single off her latest album thank u, next.

Next was Grande’s hit “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” which samples an old ‘NSYNC hit “It Makes Me Ill” from their 2000 album, No Strings Attached.

And low and behold: Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick all joined Grande on stage. Noticeably absent was Justin Timberlake.

“I’ve been waiting all my motherf—— life to say this: ‘NSYNC,” Grande said before she and the group performed the 1997 classic, “Tearin’ Up My Heart.”

“Coachella, this has been a dream of ours, thank you Ariana!” the band said.

Days before her performance, Grande posted videos of herself singing along to the boy band’s music, including throwback footage of at a ‘NSYNC concert belting out the lyrics in her mother Joan’s arms.

In addition, Grande sang “7 Rings,” “Love Me Harder,” “breathin,” “needy,” “Right There”  and “Break Your Heart.”

Diddy also made a special appearance to sing “Mo Money Mo Problems,” with Grande singing Faith Evans’ verse.

Grande, Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) and Tame Impala were announced as Coachella’s 2019 headliners in January. “Humbled and excited as all hell @coachella thank u,” Grande wrote on Instagram at the time.

The singer is only the fourth woman to ever headline Coachella, after Björk (twice, in 2002 and 2007), Lady Gaga (2017) and Beyoncé (2018).

This isn’t the first time the Nickelodeon alum has appeared at the festival. Last year, Grande surprised fans when she joined Norwegian deejay Kygo’s Coachella set to perform her hit "no tears left to cry" and a cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing.”

Grande’s Coachella set comes amid her smash Sweetener World Tourwhich kicked off March 18 in Albany, New York. The tour highlights tracks from her quirky 2018 LP Sweetener, as well as her candid, acclaimed new album thank u, next, which she released in February, just months after the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and her split from fiancé Pete Davidson.
