From one reality show to the next!
On Tuesday, Vanessa Grimaldi appeared on iHeartRadio’s Pratt Cast podcast, during which she revealed to fellow Bachelor Nation alum Dean Unglert that she almost had a future on MTV’s The Hills: New Beginnings.
Though Grimaldi, who won Nick Viall‘s season of The Bachelor, said she was “ready to try something else,” she ultimately ended up passing on the opportunity.
“I get a message from someone saying, ‘Hey’ and to give them a call for a new — well, I don’t even think they used the word ‘new’ — but for a reality TV show that they would be interested in me being a part of the cast,” she explained to Unglert. “My curiosity piqued.”
As a former Bachelor contestant, Grimaldi, 31, explained, “I was ready to try something else other than a dating show.” So when she learned that they were contacting her for The Hills reboot, Grimaldi said she was interested.
“They said that they are looking for new faces for The Hills and asked if I was still living in L.A. and if I was single and what my work was like,” she continued. “Basically, some background information on what I’m doing and where I’m living.”
Grimaldi, who was born and raised in Canada and currently resides in Montréal, said she believed living outside of L.A. and her lack of interest may have contributed to losing out on the job.
“I don’t think I seemed that interested,” she admitted. “When you did a reality TV show, you already know the back-end of what happens behind the scenes. It’s a little bit nerve-racking.”
The star, who recently confirmed that she is dating Canadian businessman Josh Wolfe, also noted that she had no desire to appear on the reboot as the “single” cast member.
“At that point, I was single and I’m not dating anyone,” Grimaldi shared. “They were like, ‘You’d be the single girl coming on the show’ and I was like, ‘I don’t want to be the single girl coming on the show and starting s— between people and ruining relationships. That’s not what I want to do!’ ”
Her revelation came on the same day that MTV announced that the highly-anticipated reboot of the popular reality show would premiere in June.
Though Grimaldi won’t be appearing on The Hills, fans can expect to see a few other newcomers, including Mischa Barton and Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson‘s son Brandon Lee.
As for the original stars, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Justin Bobby, Brody Jenner, Whitney Port, Jason Wahler, Stephanie Pratt and Frankie Delgado are all confirmed to appear on the reboot.

Along with setting a premiere date, the network also released a first look at the series.
Set to an acoustic version of Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten,” which served as the theme song to the original series, the teaser features a montage of old and new footage.
“Remember your first day of school, your first kiss, your first love. Some memories last forever,” the video reads as old footage of the cast is shown. “Your first breakup and your first time finding yourself.”
The Hills: New Beginnings was announced in August, when a handful of cast members reunited on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The revival will reunite original cast members, alongside their children, friends and some new faces, and follow their personal and professional lives while living in Los Angeles.
The Hills New Beginnings premieres June 24 on MTV.
